Friday, September 3: Northport

Up and on the water early yesterday for a short 3 hour run to Northport - the next small town. The water was great with waves picking up only for the last 45 minutes or so. And this is where we'll be for the next 3 days unless the weather changes. The forecast for the area of Lake Michigan we will be traveling next: GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON TODAY WEST WIND 15 TO 25 KNOTS. GUSTS UP TO 35 KNOTS IN THE MORNING. SCATTERED SHOWERS IN THE MORNING. WAVES 6 TO 9 FEET BUILDING TO 11 TO 14 FEET IN THE AFTERNOON. TONIGHT NORTHWEST WIND UP TO 30 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 KNOTS. NUMEROUS SHOWERS. WAVES 11 TO 16 FEET. SATURDAY NORTHWEST WIND 15 TO 25 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 35 KNOTS. NUMEROUS SHOWERS. WAVES 10 TO 13 FEET. SATURDAY NIGHT NORTHWEST WIND 10 TO 20 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS. PARTLY CLOUDY. WAVES 7 TO 10 FEET. And Sunday isn't much better! So Steve just finished retying the boat and adding a line or two. Fortunately this marina has fixed docks and we can tie off of four corners so no bumpers needed. Will post pics tomorrow!
