Since Steve washed the deck down last night, we were up early, out to Ester's Breakfast Place and back to the boat to begin painting. First thing was to tape around the teak on the sides of the walkaround as it makes trimming so much faster. Then Steve wiped the deck down with paint thinner and we were ready to start! What a difference in how the deck looks. The old paint used to be white but after a year in the sun turned yellow :-(
It was a team effort as I did the trimming with the brush (top of sides and both joints with the floor while Steve rolled everything else. It's fun to see the difference!
One last little piece by the door and we were finished. And all this by 10:30 am. Steve also monkey climbed around the decks to remove the tape as it needed to be taken off before the paint dried very much (so as to not pull the paint off with the tape). He threw a
big blob of used tape onto the dock and I was able to pick it up with a stick without ever leaving the dock!! What talent :-) The whole deck is done (we may put a second coat on the horizontal surface yet), dry enough to walk on - and off we went about 2:00 after walking around the Arts Fair that was being held at the pavillion above us,
The ride down the Oswego River was enjoyable - sunny but windy enough for a jacket. Too hot in the sun but too cool in the shade. Typical. We arrived at Oswego about 6:30 as one of the locks was on a reduced lock schedule and we had to wait a couple of hours to go through it. Oh well.
