January 10: Still at the Seafood Shack

It was up early and on the bikes for a breakfast at the "local" place - again Steve came through in finding a good place. It was a quiet morning with the wind picking up about 10 am and really pushing us around in the dock. We rode partway across the bridge to take this picture.
Interesting things we have seen in the past day or so: a barnacle covered bicycle (definitely don't want these growing on the boat bottom!) and a corner toilet! I have never seen anything like this and didn't know you could even get one! This was at our marina - maybe Mansfield should look into this model.
Terri and Scott joined us again at the boat. Steve and Terri walked in the wind and a bit of rain over the bridge and along the beach. Scott and I made the wise decision to stay and guard the boat. We are staying at their house for the night. Scott seemed to have difficulty remembering to keep his head down so we suggested he wear a bike helmet while in the cabin :-) but he had beer for his reward. This boat is just not made for anyone over 5'10"!!
Plans tomorrow include a driving/walking tour of some of the barrier islands around Sarasota as it is supposed to be a nice day. We'll be here until Wednesday when it will be time to continue south. Still not warm enough here :-)
