Monday August 12: Britt, ON

After a couple of nights at Black Bay, we pulled up lines and anchors and headed out.

Funny how quickly ground tackle can be gathered up when using Peter and Cheryl's dinghy instead of Steve and his kayak!

Off to Britt (continuing to head south) we went. Nice little town - not much there other than a post office and a general store. The bikes came off pretty quickly - and went back on just about as fast.

No sooner had we started than my foot slipped off of the pedal and produced a 4 inch gash in my leg - get out the band aids!!

No problem though - just did some homemade first aid and good to go the next day.

We passed a really fun house on the way. These folks obviously enjoy having animal figures in their driveway and yard (along with a Royal Canadian Mountie or two as well!).

Peter and Cheryl finished painting the dark blue strip on the starboard side of Deja Vu. This is a before and after.

Looks really nice!

Steve and I just kind of goofed off today with nothing terribly productive getting done :-)

After dinner tonight, Peter and Steve were headed out fishing. First job though was to fix the portable fishfinder.

Personally, I don't have much faith in these things given that we have never had much success with any we have used. But anyway, after Peter fixed the broken transducer line, they were good to go.

Not sure if they caught anything or not - it's getting dark and they aren't back yet. Maybe that's a good sign???

Will post pics if they scored any big fish!

Tomorrow: may stay here again - Peter and Cheryl are getting a small part replaced on one of the engines so it just depends on when that is done. Likely we'll just enjoy hanging around here another day!
