Sunday November 9: Cocoa Village Marina

The most fun since we left Daytona Beach on Wednesday? Watching the Thursday Night Football game!! Finally ... the Browns played like the team we've been waiting for - for too long. Dalton is about to throw the first of many interceptions in the game :-)

Plus more fun knowing there are Bengal fans that were just crying as their team imploded (Scott maybe?)  :-)

Other than that we continue to make our way south. I'm not sure where the days went again. We spent 2 days at New Smyrna. Nice place - huge pawn store - great Thai restaurant.

Fun boats on the waterway. This one especially. Not sure what year or make of this boat that went by but not the usual sight we see on the ICW.

I've seen a lot of this from the flybridge lately. More dolphins than we've seen in quite a while. When I see them making a beeline for us, I tap on the flybridge floor and Steve comes out to see if we have dolphins in the bow wave. Then he hangs over the front.

More often than not, they are waiting there for someone for whom they can perform :-)

The moon has been full lately which means ultra high and ultra low tides. It doesn't really affect us much as the intercoastal is very consistent in it's depth - 8 to 10 ft.

Makes for very easy travel - just keep it between the navigational beacons :-)

Steve did get a bit of fishing while we were in New Smyrna. But all he caught was a "skate" or so we think. Not really sure but it definitely not something we wanted to eat!

Of course there is always something to fix. Do we need a new boat??? Not really - this one is just coming together.

The hardest thing is sometimes finding small things - like compression fittings that fit on the copper tubing that is a weird size because it's almost 40 years old and is from Taiwan (where the boat was made). So we make do and figure out how we can do what we need.

Unusual things we've seen the past few days: fishermen at Haulover Canal - didn't see anyone catching.

Cranes high in the trees! Why do they like to sit up there??

And of course my favorite: the white pelicans :-)

After a one day stop at Titusville, we left this morning for a short 20 mile trip to Cocoa Village.

It had rained most of the night. Clouds and water seemed to blend for most of today. And the rain held off until just before we were coming in to dock.

Of course.

But we can't complain about the weather - up until now it's been mostly blue skies and warm. Not that the heater hasn't been out a bit :-)

As we left Titusville, we passed the Kenned Space Center. There are still launches from the center but nothing like what was happening in the '60's.

Job today? Install the second new inverter.

We finally caught up to it (having purchased it on Ebay even though I swore off of it) as it was sent here to Cocoa Beach.

One of the problems of traveling is trying to figure out ahead of time where we might be when to have something shipped.

Anyway, hooked up with more trouble than it should have been but as you can see it appears to be working :-)

Tomorrow? Not sure. The plan was for anchoring out at Serenity Island but the weather doesn't look great so it may be plan B  ... which we don't know!
