Monday, Januay 9: Encinitas, CA

A belated Happy New Year to everyone! I am back to California (much warmer that Jacksonville was for the last few days I was there) - Steve of course never left. Matt and Wendy's is a great place to be - 1 mile to the beach with pleasant days of 60's and sunshine and lots of great breakfast places. The projects continue as everyone works on the list of things that need to be done before Matt and Wendy leave for Cherry Point, NC. I can handle the painting, cleaning oven, etc. Heavy duty work is left for Matt (with some help from Steve as he can - his arm continues to improve) like fixing the fence and painting the outside of the house when he's not actually going to work at Camp Pendleton. Wendy spends lots of time on her consulting work in between the projects. Steve does lots of messy things that no one else wants to do (and the cooking every night - which as always is great). The target leave date is this Friday or Saturday for us. We'll drive Wendy's car back to Jacksonville and leave it in a storage garage for them to pick up. The house packers now are coming on Tuesday the 17th and movers then a day or two later. I think they plan on leaving in Matt's car on the following Saturday or so. Anyway, we'll be back to the boat soon enough - and head south to Marathon with the thought of being there by February 1. Or some other day ..... as the spirit move us :-)
