After a great cruise we headed to Disney World for three days. We stayed in a nice resort in the Disney World complex. Of course everything was Disney characters, stories and busses were all painted with cartoon characters. Very festive.
There are 4 separate parks in Disney World. When you buy a 3 day pass you select the three parks you wish to visit. We chose the Animal Kingdom, the Hollywood Studios (Avatar, etc), and EPCOT.
The gardens were over 100 feet high and designed to appear to be floating.
There were also some interesting carvings in the rocks along the way.
This life sized Avatar in the tank was very realistic.
And then there was finally the ride. It was incredible. Each person rode his/her own Banshee, which we were tightly strapped onto. The sensation of flying through the floating gardens, just like in the movie, was incredible. Reality disappeared and we were immersed in a strange wonderful land.
The Animal park was fun and much more relaxed. It was nice to see the animals had plenty of space in which to roam around.
It's a Small, Small World is Cindy's favorite. The ride was stalled for a while so we sat in our little boat for quite some time listening to Cindy and Eve joining in with the singing! I still can't get that song out of my head!
It was a busy day and I didn't get a lot of good pictures, but you get the idea. We were getting pretty worn out when we found a bench. I think Eve is my new best Canadian kid buddy! Or maybe it's just, "Any port in a storm!"
It was the 50th Anniversary of the park so the castle had been redone and was quite spectacular.
So ended our Disney World getaway. If you go to this website, click on tickets and then Theme parks you can see many wonderful pictures of the park. The place truly is amazing!
