Monday September 26: Road Trip

Finally, Steve felt well enough Friday that we decided to visit the Lexington Market. It's very similar to the West Side Market in Cleveland but in our opinion wasn't nearly as good. Anyway, it was again an adventure as our number one rule now when using the GPS is to double check the address!!! After driving all over downtown Baltimore we finally found the market but couldn't find our way out of the parking garage! Mirrored glass and minimal signage. What a trip. And now it's raining. And we didn't bring umbrellas. What a day. But Steve still managed to find something for supper :-) In the end - a great rainbow :-)
Saturday was another overcast day but that was ok as it's cool when the sun isn't out. Steve must be using the computer too long as he had sought out a meat market that has been in business for the last 100 years - how could we possibly miss that on our stay in Baltimore?! So after breakfast at Denny's, we headed out to not-sure-where as we have come to rely on the GPS for getting us to where we want to go even if we have no idea where we really are! Dave had joined us for the trip to Denny's and was game for the trip to the meat market also - he really didn't realize what he was getting into! But it ended up great as Steve found some great steaks. Now all we needed was to clean the grill (it REALLY needed it). Sad to say, Steve dumped a grill part into the water - not realizing it wasn't attached. Sadder still is that it was stainless so no chance of snagging it with a magnet kept on board for just such an occasion! So off to WalMart to buy a 12" pizza pan (perfect!). Steve marked the holes he needed and I drilled them. Worked perfect - steaks were great!
Yea Browns!!! What a game yesterday :-)
It was up early this morning as Steve had another physical therapy appointment (it is really helping!) He's feeling better but still not sleeping much at night. Must be time for that road trip! The boat was out of the water by 10 and we were on the road by 10:30. The damage from the stump encounter was minimal - as Steve had verified by his dives under the boat (this was before "The Fall" of course). The dings will be fixed, new barrier paint on the exposed fiberglass and then 2 coats of antifouling paint and we'll be good to go. Our first stop of the day was at the Delaware Welcome Center (we were headed north toward Atlantic City) for lunch.
So depending on the weather, we may go a bit south to Cape May and actually SEE the town as it was raining when we stopped there as we were moving south.
