Friday May 22: Heading for Guppy!

With a last look back, we left this morning headed for Syracuse, NY and Guppy.

It's been a great three weeks on land but it was definitely time to move on :-)

A very productive time - including a nice week spent with my brother Tom before he returned to Arizona. Dentists, doctors and more family and friends were the agenda for our time in Ohio. Including the cataract removed on my right eye (left done last September).

And as usual, returning to either boat usually involves several cars. The car we've been driving for the past three weeks was turned in at the Akron-Canton airport so we could rent another car for the one-way drive to New York.

This lets us rent the one way car for a single day - at a price of $85 a day it seemed like the right decision!

Tomorrow we'll turn the new car in and pick up another at the local Enterprise to use the next few days as we work to get Guppy ready for traveling.

Only one problem - our EZ-pass on the rental car didn't seem to be working. Were we incurring a fine every time we went through a toll booth??

Well, we'll find out tomorrow when we turn the car in at the airport.

This picture is my proof that we indeed had the EZ-pass open (as instructed :-) ) but yet we received the "no EZpass signal" along with the yellow light.

I will be using this picture when tomorrow at the rental counter - oh how I pity the person on duty if there is anything other than "we'll take care of it" response :-)
